Great News!

9 Feb 2010 In: Misc.

As some of you may remember, last month Kaylee’s iron levels tested a bit below normal, and we had to put her on some iron drops. She had a follow up appointment today, and thanks to God, her iron levels are up, and she is doing well. They changed her medicine to a lower dosage of iron for the next couple months.
I am now at 28 weeks and 6 days pregnant, meaning, I had to do my testing for gestational diabetes today. I will not have results until probably tomorrow, but I know that I will have victory in Gods name, and my sugar levels will be perfect! I also had another ultrasound done today to check my fluids and make sure they were not low. Dr. said they were as average as I’d want them to me :) Baby is measuring at 30 weeks 1 day, meaning he is about 1 week bigger in size than in estimated delivery date, which is ok!! He is weighing in at about 3 lbs 3 oz, I am very excited b/c at this rate, I’m pretty sure he’ll be a bigger baby than Kaylee, which is also great news, considering Kaylee was under 5 lbs. We were also able to schedule my C-Section, and it looks as if Baby #2 will be joining us (God willing it’s not any earlier) on April 23rd, 2010. Exactly one year and 20 days after Kaylee’s birth :)
So all in all, aside from all of the LONG waiting to see the Dr., we had great and successful visits with the Dr’s today, praise God!! Here is a picture of our little man. You can see half of his face b/c the other half he is covering with his arm :)

Another trip to the ER

5 Feb 2010 In: Misc.

Yesterday evening, Abner and I faced what could have been one of our biggest fears….we took Kaylee to the E.R. around 5:30pm. While playing with Daddy, she fell backwards from the sitting position, hitting her head on the counter top and some keys. She immediately tried to cry, but wouldn’t catch her breath for about a minute or so. She began to turn blue and black from her face and mouth, putting Abner and I in complete shock. She got to the point where she was beginning to close her eyes as if she was going to pass out. We stood there with her, trying to keep her awake and trying to get her to breath. Still not crying, it looked as if she had finally got a little breath of air. I tried talking to her and getting her to react, but it seemed all she wanted to do was close her eyes. Not sure if she was just tired or if something more severe had happened, considering she hit her head pretty hard, Abner and I decided to rush her to the clinic. Upon arriving at the only open clinic they told us they could not treat her because it was head injury and needed to take her to the ER. The 15 minute drive to the ER seemed to be an eternity, trying to get to Kadlec Hospital in Richland quickly, at rush hour, is simply impossible!! Thank God, that a few minutes before we arrived, Kaylee began to react to our calls and smile and giggle like normal. Once we arrived at the ER, we were seen by two nurses and a Dr. within 20 minutes. Everything was ok, and she was going to be just fine! Thank YOU GOD!!!! I praise God, b/c things could have gone much worse, she could have fallen from the countertop to the floor, or she could have cut her head with the keys she landed on. Upon many “could haves,” God was our rescue, and allowed nothing at all to happen to her! Abner and I have never been so scared in our lives and we are still trying to get over the shock of seeing our little girl not reacting in our arms…we thank you all for your continued prayers towards our family.

Here is a picture of Kaylee from the day before the incident, when she turned 10 months. As you can see, she is just getting more and more beautiful as the days pass!

Thank You Jesus!

1 Feb 2010 In: Misc.

I’d like to take this opportunity to publicly give thanks to the Lord, my God and Savior for all of the wonderful blessings he has bestowed upon my family and I. I’ll start by thanking him for getting Kaylee and I through her first major fever…which lasted about 2 days, then followed with a rash. Naturally, I was worried, and took her in to the Dr., but of course, by then her fever had broken, and she was fine! Thanks to God that he healed her, and there was no need for any other kind of medicine. She continues to grow and amaze us more everyday. She is mastering the skill of walking back and forth on our sofa. Kaylee has begun to be a little too attached to me, and sometimes doesn’t want anybody else, although it looks very bratty, deep down inside, it makes me so happy that she loves me so much :)

Baby Abner is continuing to grow well, and we have a scheduled ultrasound next Monday, the 8th to take another peek at him. I give God the thanks in advance, b/c I know and feel everything is going just great, and this pregnancy will be free of complications! I’m excited to be able to take another look at our precious baby boy :)

On January 29, 2010 God blessed me with another year of life, which I am also very grateful for. I thank God for my wonderful Husband and daughter who made this birthday one of the best ever. He took me to breakfast, then we had a friends/family get together for a BBQ at our house. Although it was pouring rain outside, my husband was kind enough to cook some of the BEST burgers I have ever tasted, thanks babe! Here is a video I created to share with you all a little part of my birthday. Thank you to everybody for all the birthday wishes on my special day, I really did have a great time! P.S….this video quality if absolutely horrible!! And I apologize, however if you go onto my facebook…there is a much clearer video :)

Kisses from Kaylee!

16 Jan 2010 In: Misc.

Like I mentioned earlier, Kaylee is growing by the second, everyday she seems to be learning new things, it’s sooo stinken cute! Over the last two weeks, she’s improved her crawling, walking across the sofa, waving, shaking her head no, and among many other things, the cutest so far has to be her new “kissies.” She was at first giving out kisses with her mouth open, over the last couple of days, she has learned to smooch them! Sooo cute :) I’m so thankful to God for such a beautiful, healthy baby girl, I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Lord, b/c among all the complications that could of come from her being premature, she is just perfect! All the glory and victory goes to God, and God alone! I’m also very thankful to God for giving us the funds to be able to have cameras in abundance to capture all of these priceless moments!!!

About Maggie

I was a simple girl, passing life by, not really getting anywhere. Then I met this man, he completely turned my life around. He taught me that the only thing I should fear in life is God, everything else is easy to overcome; it's all a mind game. This man, he puts me on a pedastool and offers me the world. He changed my world when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I now live the life of the happiest woman in the world, with the world's best husband and the most beautiful daughter ever imaginable. Without these two, life would be...well...boring! Abner and Kaylee are my world, and together, we serve the Lord, all Mighty, and as a family we will one day, rise to heaven and sing his praises for eternity.
